Enjoy the Christmas Holidays With Little Stress 0

Posted on December 17, 2010 by Jennib And Friends

Christmas gives people chances to unwind, relax with family and rejoice with friends. Christmas holidays should be wonderful but they make many people stressed. With a few changes, you’ll be able to enjoy the Christmas season, if 1) you plan ahead, 2) save money during the year for presents, decorations, and holiday meals, 3) stay within your budget, and 4) don’t spend more money than you have, you then find that the Christmas Holiday can be very enjoyable and happy. There are many activities to do with your children, family and friends that will help you truly enjoy all of the Christmas festivities.

The birth of Christ is the reason for the season and it’s important to think of that as you plan your celebrations. Remember that there are many activities in churches, community centers and schools that are planned specifically for Christmas. You could take your family to hear Christmas carols at church, listen to choirs or bands at school or visit a “live” Nativity scene and see people dressed as Mary, Joseph and three Wise Men. You could even sing Christmas songs in your home, neighborhood, or join established groups who sing in nursing homes or malls. It is fun to take a small plastic cup, with a hole in the middle, and put in a candle to carry with you when you sing. Bringing happiness to others is the best way to find happiness.

One of the most enjoyable tasks at Christmastime is decorating the yard and the inside and outside of the house. Even more fun than decorating is driving around your neighborhood and looking at all the decorated houses. Many towns and cities have competitions for the best decorated home.

Another good way to enjoy Christmas is inviting people over for hot cocoa. There are many classic Christmas movies that should be traditions of watching. Making some simple finger foods along with drinks and cookies is a wonderful way to visit with family, friends, or neighbors. It’s even fun to exchange tree

Top 10 Christmas Movies of 2009 5

Posted on December 15, 2010 by Jennib And Friends

1. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON

Whether you like it or not, The Twilight Saga: New Moon is definitely one of the most anticipated movie of the year and therefore had to top our Christmas Movie List for a second year in a row. And since I am a fan of the Twilight series, The Twilight Saga: New Moon is my #1 movie to look forward to this Christmas.

2. AVATAR

Avatar shares the honor of making our #2 Christmas movie spot and also the distinction of being one of the most secretive movies ever developed to date. I was personally blown away by the footage shown at Comic Con. And with James Cameron’s track record, I think we are in for a real treat. And that is why Avatar is the number 2 movies to see this Christmas.

3. THE LOVELY BONES

The Lovely Bones has a few things going for it. It is based on a really great book, it has a great director, and a great cast. And the trailer looks really promising. Definitely a must see this Christmas.

4. THE ROAD

After being delayed for over a year now, the long overdue movie adaptation of The Road by Cormac McCarthy is finally hitting the screens. The subject matter combined with the amazing casting make this movie a must watch movie that even made our 2008 Christmas Movies list.

5. NINE

This new musical from Rob Marshall, not only has a really incredible cast, it is based on Federico Fellini’s 8 1/2. It certainly deserves a spot on the top 10 Christmas Movies of 2009.

6. INVICTUS

Clint Eastwood directing and Morgan Freeman starring as Nelson Mandela should be enough of an explanation as to why this movie made our top 10 Christmas Movies of 2009. And if it’s not, how about you add Matt Damon to the cast on top of that.

7. SHERLOCK HOLMES

The re-imagining of Sherlock Holmes from the mind of Guy Richie starring Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law as Watson.
