Loud Music Ears Ringing
Turning up our music to a higher volume is a risky habit. You like the song, you turn it up to enjoy! However there are risks attached that you may be unaware of.
If you listen to loud music for a significant amount of time you run the risk of damaging your hearing! Sensitive hair cells inside our ears can become damaged by loud sounds such as music. The hairs are used by the brain to convert sound into signals that it can understand. If the hairs are continually exposed to loud noise, they become permanently damaged resulting in loss of hearing. It is also thought that people can suffer from temporary Tinnitus as a result of listening to music too loudly, symptoms include a ringing, humming, buzzing or a whistling sound in the ears or head. This condition can become permanent in extreme cases. Loud Music Ears Ringing
Research suggests that some people are effected less by lengthy exposure to loud music as they are born with tougher ears. Listening to loud music through headphones is also said to significantly affect the likelihood of hearing damage as it is intensified. The problem is set to worsen with the introduction of MP3 players, battery life lasts for up to 20 hours compared to old school walkmans, which ran off AA batteries lasting for just a few hours.
Studies suggest that a person can listen to music through headphones on a typical MP3 player such as an iPod for 4.6 hours a day at 70% volume without causing any damage to their hearing. If a person chose to listen to their

You may not realize it, but just listening to music can permanently damage your hearing. People often have the tendency to turn the volume up when using headphones. To avoid permanent damage to your hearing, wearing hearing protection headphones is absolutely necessary. By using the right headphones, you will be able to listen to your music at a safe level without having to turn the amp up.
Damage to your hearing is referred to as Tinnitus. It initially causes ringing in the ears and can lead to more permanent hearing loss. If you are experiencing ringing in your ears, the best thing to do is to stop using your headphones for a while. Give your ears the rest they deserve and need. If you have been listening to music at sound pressure levels over 80 decibels, then you are at high risk for long-term hearing loss if you don’t use the proper protection. If you have the symptoms of Tinnitus, then it is important for you to use some kind of hearing protection the next time you listen to loud music. If you don’t, you are likely to spend the rest of your life not being able to listen to the music you enjoy and love.
A temporary loss of hearing can occur anytime you are exposed to a loud noise. When this happens, it may be awhile before your hearing returns to normal. However, if you are exposed to loud noises for an extended period of time, permanent hearing loss is likely to happen. Once your hearing is damaged, it will never be the same. That is why you see construction and factory workers always wearing headphones while they are on the job.
Permanent hearing loss can also occur while listening to music. This is especially true if you routinely use headphones for your listening pleasure. Most professional musicians today make sure that they wear hearing protection headphones while they are playing or listening to music. They know that their career depends on not only their musical ability but also on their “hearing”
