When Google Says Free Does It Actually Mean Free ? 25

Posted on April 01, 2011 by Jennib And Friends

Don’t you just hate it, you go to the biggest search engine in the world, you choose your search words carefully and add the word “free” (let’s face who wants to pay) and click search, unfortunately no matter what search term you choose you won’t be getting what you asked for.

Take a subject close to my heart “free ringtones” , search for that on google.com and you end up with a massive 27,600,000 search results. However then start clicking on the links on the first few pages, what do you get? Well actually you get a lot of pay ringtone sites and very few if any free ringtone sites.

Why is this? Well the problem is all the big search engines rank sites by how popular they, by how many links they get from other sites and by the linking text used to link to that site. So for example if site A sells ringtones but site B links to it using the link text “free ringtones” when the search engine parses Site B it will see the link and count it as a positive towards Site A. Times this by a large number of links and you too can appear on page one of a high ranking search phrase such as free ring tones.

The problem is the search engines aren’t cleaver enough to parse the sites content (ok they use SEO pointers such as keywords, descriptions etc) but they aren’t clever enough to determine what the site is selling. So basically if you have pay ring tone site, you get enough links pointing to your site including the phrase free, then you can appear top of the search results without providing what people are searching for.

So is there a way round this? At the moment no there isn’t the bots the search engines read cant determine what the site is selling they can only read certain pointers which would point to what the site is providing but cant determine whether they are free or pay. Hopefully this is something that can be addressed in the future which will help provide a better surfing experience to everyone.

Choose a Thanksgiving Gift for Your Mother 0

Posted on November 28, 2010 by Jennib And Friends

Thanksgiving Day is coming soon, and we would celebrate this festival just after two months, and now we have to think about Thanksgiving gifts.
Though we have many people to thank on this festival, I think that the first one that we should thank for is our mothers, and it is our mothers that bring us up with great efforts.
As a daughter, I want to show my love to my mother as well on Thanksgiving Day, and I also want to say thanks to my mother. My mother nearly spent all her young time on bringing me up, and now she is not young any more, but I think that she will be happy if I could make her appear beautiful again.
At the beginning, I wanted to cook delicious dishes for her on the festival, but later I changed my idea. My mother will feel sad whenever she hears that somebody says that she has become an old woman. Therefore, I decide to make my mother appear beautiful again with the help of some beautiful accessories.
Two months is not a long time, and I have to go out from time to time in order to choose the best thanksgiving gift for my mother, and then I hope to see excited expressions on my mother’s face the moment she gets my thanksgiving gift.
One day, when I am wandering about on the street, I find a store for selling leather bags, and I suddenly remind of one thing that my mother is short of beautiful bag all the time, and she has to carry her old cloth bag to attend all parties of relatives and friends. Just at that moment, I know what kind of thanksgiving gift I should present my mother, and of course I know that my mother would not favor leather bags in bright colors, and bright colors are not suitable for

The Changing Face of the Music Industry 4

Posted on November 21, 2010 by Jennib And Friends

When was the last time you paid or more for a CD? For many, it has been years. It’s really no wonder why so many people have stopped spending their hard earned money on overpriced CD’s. People used to go out and buy a CD because they heard one song on the radio that they really liked, and a lot of times that CD would only have one or two hit songs on it.

The Internet has changed how music is delivered to the consumer, as well as how music is marketed. With unit sales from traditional record labels down over the past few years, it seems evident that most music delivery is coming from online sources. Given the trend in artists self-producing their own records and fans downloading free music online, it makes sense for companies to get into the business of offering top quality services to both the listener and the artist. One internet company that is well positioned to be on the cutting edge of the new trend in music downloads is SoundXposure.com (www.soundxposure.com)

For the music fan, the online radio at SoundXposure plays top rated music from a wide variety of genres. They will be able to browse through a variety of new collections, featured artists or just listen to the radio stations playing hits from the Underground Music Charts. If you’re left a little broke at the end of the month because you got a little overzealous on one of the traditional download sites, don’t worry, SoundXposure is a free music download site. You can download music legally and listen to top new rock songs, while you’re checking out the underground music charts. With all of the legal issues that have happened in the past with downloading music on the internet, it can be a little confusing. You won’t have to worry about any of that on SoundXposure. The artist has full control over whether to allow free downloads or not. Because most underground artists are looking for more exposure, it is usually in their best interest to spread their music far and
