Create Your Own IPhone Ringtones For Free 4

Posted on March 24, 2011 by Jennib And Friends

The iPhone is an amazing phone that can do many incredible things. But after shelling out all that money for the phone itself, who wants to pay even more just for a ringtone? This article will describe the simple process to create your own iPhone ringtones for free.

The first step is just to select a song that you like that you wish to become your new ringtone. Now, the iPhone rings for about 40 seconds, so you’ll need to isolate a 40 second or less part of that song or other m4a file that you wish to have as your ringtone. For windows users, right click on the file and select “Create AAC Version”. Give it a second to create the new file, then right click it again and select “Get Info”. Go over to options, and select the start and stop time of the song.

Now that you have that, right click the new version of the audio file and select “Create AAC Version” again. This should then create a file which the song length shows as however long you trimmed the song to be (remember: 40 seconds or less). At this point you can delete the other copy you made, as you don’t need it.

Right click the new, trimmed version and click “Open in Windows Explorer” and a new window will open up. Hit “Alt” then go to tools, and “Options”. Go to “View” and make sure the box that says “Show extensions for known file types” is checked, and then hit OK. Right click the song file, normally named with the title and a “2″ after it. Select properties, and then change the extension of the file from “. M4a” or “. Mp3″ to “. M4r”. You will get a notification saying the file may be unusable. That’s normal, so just hit yes. Then drag the file over to iTunes, and voila! You have a new ringtone to sync to your phone.

If you’re a Mac user, the process is basically the same as Windows. Once you select the song, go to the menu bar, hit Advanced, and hit “Create AAC Version”. Then select the file in iTunes, go to “Get Info”, and select the start and end times just like the Windows version. Select “Create AAC Version” again, and for this final version, select “Show in finder”. Now, again, select the audio file and change the extension to “. M4r”, and drag it over to your iTunes.

This is a very simple way to create as many free ringtones as you want for your phone. It may seem complex at first, but as soon as you do it once, you’ll have no problem repeating the procedure.

There are also many websites that have . Mp3 files of soundbites from your favorite movies, video games, or TV shows that you can easily download and create a ringtone from. Now you can have the same ring as your favorite movie or video game character. You’ll never need to pay money for a ringtone again, only to regret it because it’s not exactly what you wanted. Get precisely the part of a song you want.

You can create ones for each of your friends so you know exactly who’s calling before ever even looking at the phone, ensuring that each ring is unique and perfect to what you desire. You’ll never have to guess and hope you’re spending money on the right part of a song.

Free Ringtone | Tips On Getting The Best And Cheapest Ringtones 25

Posted on March 04, 2011 by Jennib And Friends

Having a phone is never a hard thing to do when you think hard about buying one. It is never like buying a car since the cost itself is fairly negligible, unless you are buying a state of the art phone predicted to hit the streets in the distant future. But once you have secured a phone other things come into the future, like having to get ringtones to notify you of a phone call or received message.

Generally ringtones are cheap. This applies if you are simple and not looking for something fancy. But there exists the special ringtones that cost an arm and a leg when compared to the cheap ones. Such ringtones are usually the ones that are as real as a song or an animal sound or funny ones that are rare and special. Whatever the case is there are priced differently and they sound different.

In order to get a tone for your phone there are a variety of places you can visit. The most popular place for getting tones is on the internet. If you have opted for such tones you should be prepared to fork out some money. For tones like this it is cheaper if you make a bulk purchase. This way you get a wide variety of ringtones at a bulk price instead of getting one for the price of 10 or 20.

Despite these ones there are the ringtones that come for free. Under normal circumstances these are basic ones with no reality to them. But on a rare occasion or two do not be surprised if you find a really nice tone available to you for free. But you must be careful to protect yourself from identity theft because there are so many internet fraudsters that can steal important personal information about you.

Another place to look out for these ringtones is television. There are always adverts advertising ringtones for sale. If you have decided to take this route you should have enough airtime in your phone to afford the purchase. Usually they cost a certain amount of airtime, which is the cost of sending the message. These are usually one of the cheapest on the market.

But if at all you are not comfortable with this you should think about buying tones from magazines. More often than once there appear a lot of adverts in magazines and newspapers advertising tones for sale. And just like the adverts on television they dictate the cost of sending an sms to them, this is how much they cost.

Generally you can download or copy a tone from a computer. This applies to phones that can copy ringtones from a computer. For people crazy about songs as ringtones this is somehow worthwhile. It is cheaper than anything and it is safe as well.

Generally finding a cheap tone is fairly easy. But you must just know where to go and who to talk to. There are millions of tones out there; there is no way you can fail to find one you like.

What you Should Think of – Finding Legal Free Ringtones 9

Posted on February 17, 2011 by Jennib And Friends

One of the first and very noticeable features of cell phones is ringtones, which are easily available over the net. However the question lies is, whether they are free or charged? You usually search of websites that let you download ringtones for free, and there are websites that let you do that. But honestly, not all websites allow downloading for free. There are hidden costs charged to them, which you might notice only after you’ve got your phone bill or a certain amount has been deducted from your balance.

Websites usually display a lot of ringtones, some of which are free and some of which are not. The ones that are charged, generally, are a form of royalty that the website has to pay to the artist for the songs. Many websites have three to four pages as a part of their process to get the ringtones. One of those pages might include a long list of the terms and conditions, which, majority of the times, contains the word ’subscription’ and service pricing. So when we unintentionally, ignore these terms and click on “I agree”, the blame of being charged is very conveniently shifted from the ringtone supplier to the customer.

Next is the page which asks us of our mobile number, which we very happily type in, in the excitement of getting our so called ‘FREE’ ringtone, which actually is charged. And then we have no choice but to either pay the money or lodge complain and by the time things get back to square one, the damage has already been caused. So it is always better to read the text displayed on the websites from where you are going to download the ringtones.

Some of the things that you should keep in mind before downloading free ringtones: -

•Read reviews of the websites offering free ringtones and make a wise choice.

•Most of the popular music is copyright protected, any use of the music, such as in free ringtones, requires royalties to be paid to the artist, make sure that the website mention that on their pages.

•Do not mention your credit card number to any of the websites, even if they are legitimate sites, it might be risky.

•Make sure that the website you visit is free of virus, because if you avoid this little advice, the virus might not only enter your computer hard drive but also your phone, which would happen while transferring the ringtone from the computer to your phone. Now, that would be a two-in-one damage for you.

Apart from downloading ringtones from the websites, there are other legal options too of getting ringtones. You can download ringtones by getting your GPRS connection activated, this way; you can be worry-free about viruses and worms. Another beneficial way would be to transfer ringtones from your friend’s or relative’s cell phone via Bluetooth or infrared. Even tough you can adopt these methods for getting free ringtones; the above mentioned list of factors to be kept in mind should not be avoided.
