When I go into any room that is a haven to music making- classic machines a plenty, I hear one little thing…usually “I still can not finish this track!”
I then take a good close look at this persons room and computer and usually the key to their predicament usually shows its face within a few minutes.
So I have collected the best 5 ways to get your tracks finished, made on time…and even started…without any musical influences:

Before you even start to make any music, make sure that the Internet is turned off. If it is a computer that everyone uses, make yourself a new user account without internet connection- this was my problem, so I turned off the Internet and saved myself 4 hours per day (surfing adds up)! If everyone is using that one computer, make sure that you have a secure section on it (passworded- so you can back up your section) as you can bet alot of money on something getting deleted. Even have a rota as who can have the computer at what times. You don’t want to be interupted in mid-fantastic-never-been-heard-before-number-one-hook making.
None music way #2
Do a mini spring clean and make things user friendly. I have a Temp Store, Downloaded Folder, VST folder (subfoldered into beats, FX etc). This makes my computer work well, quickly and makes my time in music making more efficient. If your computer is not efficient, or you have to have time to find a piece of software that holds the secret to your humming tune, then you will forget that hum before you find the folder. Having things at hand is a practical way of music making. I know of top artists that go around with a tape recorder or writing pad all the time just in case they get “inspiration”. The 2006 UK Football World Cup Song came to the artist in the bath.

The Smash hit, blockbusting behemoth of a musical is none other than Wicked. It is globally in span, and partly funded by Universal Studios. Wicked is the well famous musical so far this century. Smash hit London musical Wicked has conjured up box office magic by grossing £100 million in the United Kingdom. The production has notched up more than 1,500 performances and been seen by approximately three million people. UK executive producer Michael McCabe said he was “pleased” at the £100 million milestone. He said “We are delighted that the extraordinary momentum we have experienced since opening in 2006 has now achieved matured sales of £100 million.”We are particularly proud to have achieved this incredible success with advance sales also at their highest point in three years during a period of such global financial uncertainty.” The Wicked musical, at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre, is based on the novel, Wicked The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, by Gregory Maguire. Productions are also playing in North America, Germany, Japan and Australia. The exciting news n this Saturday June 26th, two previous Elphabas from the extensively popular Broadway musical Wicked will take the stage in Columbus. Julia Murney and Stephanie J. Block will sing in a special “Wicked Divas” concert with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra as part of the Nationwide Insurance Picnic with the Pops series. The orchestra is planned to perform selections from George Bizet’s Carmen. Murney and Block will sing collections from Wicked and Ragtime, Chicago, Funny Girl and much more. There is no doubt that the role of Elphaba is physically and emotionally demanding and is considered one of the most vocally challenging roles in musical theatre. Being the cast of Elphaba is a massive success and a tribute to Patrice’s outstanding talent. WICKED has recently celebrated its one millionth patron and this week reaches nine months at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre. Wicked has been one of the major success stories in Australian musical theatre, starting its journey in Melbourne in July 2008. It instantly became a most important public success story. Broadway vet Kathy Fitzgerald will join the Broadway Company of Wicked on June 29 as Madame Morrible, replacing Tony winner Rondi Reed, who will give her final performance on June 27. The show continues its smash-hit run at the Gershwin Theatre, directed by Joe Mantello. Recently the Broadway Company of Wicked includes Mandy Gonzalez as Elphaba, Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, P.J. Benjamin as The Wizard, Andy Karl as Fiyero, Alex Brightman as Boq, Jenny Fellner as Nessarose, and Timothy Britten Parker as Dr. Dillamond . Get your Cheap Wicked Tickets
